Over 35,000 prizes up for grabs for participants
Jetix team tours 600 schools
‘Player of the Day’ award for top scorers
VISAKHAPATNAM: A different cricket fever is going to grip children over the next three weeks. It’s the JPL (Jetix Premier League). Children have to watch Jetix and tell the score of their favourite Jetix icon for the success of their respective teams.
Jetix toured 600 schools and spoke to four lakh students across Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru. The students were asked to vote for their favourite icons, and ‘American Dragon Jake Long’ turned out to be the hot favourite among children in Andhra Pradesh.
Icons in race
Similarly, the icons chosen by students from other States are: Chennai – Hero, Bengaluru – Dennis the Menace, Mumbai – Storm Hawks, Kolkata – Inspector Gadget and Delhi – Power Rangers. Participating children have to give scores to their respective icons. The participants have to be careful in giving the scores to the icons in accordance with the code. For example, if a participant from the State gives the score to Power Rangers, he/she would be helping Delhi to win the league.
Children from States other than these six can support the icon they wish to win. Top scorers of each city will be awarded ‘Player of the Day’, JP Power Player and HPL Champion of Champions.
The 11 top players will win video games and CDs apart from JPL merchandise at the end of the three-week contest that began on Monday.
Children can send SMS, email or call over the phone to answer the questions that would be asked every day between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Over 35,000 prizes are up for grabs for the participants during the sessions.
Every participant will get a JPL game pack. Viewers can also logon to www.jetix.
“Jetix is the only 24-hour kids channel available in Telugu and Tamil in addition to Hindi and English. Disney Channel has a two-hour Telugu block during the evenings. Jetix is the No.1 kids channel in the South,” Director – Corporate Communications and Outreach, The Walt Disney Company (India) Pvt. Ltd., K. Seshsayee said.
“All the programmes on Jetix are based on the themes: team work and triumph of good over evil. The success in JPL would also be based on team work,” he added.
