HYDERABAD: The VHP has alleged that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi struck a deal over the Ramasethu project to ensure that the UPA government won the recent confidence vote in Parliament.

International secretary-general of VHP Praveen Togadia said at a press conference here on Friday that Ms. Gandhi ‘fulfilled’ the wish of Mr. Karunanidhi seeking destruction of Ramasethu bridge. The destruction was traced to the making of Lord Ram himself in the affidavit filed by the Centre in Supreme Court on Wednesday. The bridge was razed in return for the support of DMK MPs to the UPA.
