Short Service Commission to be strengthened: Pallam Raju

HYDERABAD: Minister of State for Defence M. M. Pallam Raju ascribed the recurrent incursions by the Chinese guards across the border to the disagreement between both the countries on border-line. “However, there haven’t been any conflicts due to the understanding between the leaderships. We are looking forward to improve relations with China and they are going to be our largest trade partner,” he stated.

Mr. Pallam Raju inaugurated the girls’ wing of National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Mukarram Jah School, Purani Haveli on Friday.

He accepted the short supply of mid-level officers due to uncompetitive pay packages and attrition. “There is a feeling that mid-level officers didn’t get their due in Sixth Pay Commission. We are trying to improve the situation with strengthening the Short Service Commission (SSC) and enhancing the post-service facilities,” stated Mr. Raju. Speaking on this occasion, he said that the NCC plays a key role in inculcating self-confidence, discipline and national integrity. He announced that two lakh more cadets will be added to the existing strength of 13 lakhs. Gen. Prakash S Chaudary, the Director General of NCC, said that the cadets enjoy reservations in many divisions of armed forces and they will soon have a separate rally for soldiers’ selection. “NCC cadets will get 15 marks in Part-B and 20 marks in Part-C in soldiers’ selection drive and that means a higher chance of selection,” he stated. “We send about 100 students aboard every year and thousands of cadets trained in national camps held all over the country,” he said.
