TIRUMALA: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Friday laid the foundation stones for over Rs.350 crore developmental works at Tirumala for the benefit of the pilgrims.

The works included the construction of a modern Annadanam complex at a cost of Rs.25 crore to feed 6,000 devotees additionally every day, the construction of a guest house complex with five blocks and a massive pilgrim amenities complex ( PAC) aimed at providing accomodation to 12,000 visiting pilgrims additionally and Jalaprasadam at a cost of Rs.3 crore for providing purified drinking water to all the devotees reaching Tirumala.

The TTD authorities also made a power point presentation of various developmental works being taken up by the management at the sprawling venue located in front of the Varahaswamy guest house where the foundation ceremony was organised. Later Dr. Reddy throwing aside the security cordon proceeded towards the public galleries and cheered to the waving crowd.
