HYDERABAD: Flood waters receded in Adilabad, Warangal, Karimanagar, Krishna, East and West Godavari districts on Wednesday following a respite in the heavy rain.

Thirty-two villages on the banks of the Godavari in Khammam district have been placed on alert as the river crossed the second warning level of 48 ft in Bhadrachalam.

A Central Water Commission official, however, said the level was likely to fall on Thursday as it was already on a downward trend in Kaleswaram and Eturunagaram.
