HYDERABAD: Come Sunday and the Gymkhana Grounds in Secunderabad will play host to acrobats carefully balancing themselves on ropes, motorcycles crisscrossing inside a globe at 80 kmph and a host of scintillating performances by artists from Russia and Italy. Moonlight Circus that has been in the field for more than 30 years will look forward to entertaining its audience at the new location.

“The circus has moved from Nampally to Gymkhana Grounds and will be here for a month,” manager of Moonlight Circus Mujibur Rehaman informed media persons here on Saturday.

Italian attraction

Italian artists will be an added attraction apart from the Russian and Indian performers, he said. Secunderabad M.P. Anjan Kumar Yadav will inaugurate the first show at 4.15 p.m. on Sunday.

Russian Ring Dance, Russian Brick Balance, Russian Lasso, Russian Fine Dance and Russian Juggling will be some of the highlights at the circus.

There will be three shows in a day -- 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Each show will have around 30 to 38 death-defying acts, he said. Tickets for the two-and-a-half hour show will be in the denomination of Rs.50, 100 or 150.
