KARIMNAGAR: It was a fun-filled entertainment and educational programme for adolescent girls at the Kishore Balika Mela organised by ICDS in Karimnagar town on Wednesday.

The speakers at the Kishore Balika Mela have empowered the adolescent girls about the changes in their body from the age of 11 to 17 years and medical attention to be taken during the period with the advice of their parents.

They were also told to eat nutritional food during the period for their wellbeing.

Empowerment

The girls were educated about the beauty tips to adopt during their age with the natural available homemade products in their house.

The Anganwadi workers and ICDS supervisors were also informed about their role in the empowerment of adolescent girls.

With the help of cultural programmes, the students were enlightened about the social issues of child marriages, child labour and other issues.

They were also told to be wary of strangers and not to fall pray to their dubious tactics of luring them with the money and other gifts.
