KARIMNAGAR: It is likely to be a multi-cornered contest in the Kamalapur, Huzurabad and Medaram Assembly segments, which would go for polling on Thursday.

Though all the three Assembly segments were the strongholds of TDP, the TRS had intruded into the TDP bastions in the 2004 general elections. In this by-election, the TRS is completely banking on the Telangana sentiment.

The Congress party, which had left the three assembly segments to the TRS following an alliance in 2004, had fielded its candidates and is banking on the developmental works taken up during the last four years.

On the other hand, the TDP, had fielded candidates who were defeated last time and is planning to cash in on the negative vote.

In Kamalapur Assembly, it is a close triangular contest between TRS (Etala Rajender), Congress (Paripati Ravinder Reddy) and TDP (M. Damodar Reddy).

In Huzurabad Assembly segment, V. Lakshmikantha Rao (TRS), K. Sudarshan Reddy (Congress), E. Peddi Reddy (TDP), M. Venkatswamy (CPI) are testing their luck in a multi-cornered contest in this election. .
