TDP chief advised against politicising Venkatappa Naidu’s murder
HYDERABAD: Dismissing the Telugu Desam’s charges of Congress government’s involvement in Venkatappa Naidu’s killing in Kurnool district, the ruling party accused the erstwhile Telugu regime of shielding the main accused in the murder of Y.S. Raja Reddy, father of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The party recalled the accused was rewarded with the post of chairman of market committee.
It also referred to the statement of late TDP leader Paritala Ravindra describing TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu as the “biggest factionalist” and wanted him to be arrested. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Government Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and K. Lakshmi Durgesh Prasad, MLC, said Venkatappa Naidu was involved in eight cases of murder and one of attempt to murder while 20 of his opponents were eliminated.
“But the Congress never pointed an accusing finger towards the TDP or Mr. Naidu,” he said advising the TDP president to desist from giving ‘political colour’ to an incident that was a fallout of decades-long rivalry.
He wanted the police to initiate stringent action against those involved in the killing of Venkatappa Naidu.
