Redressal of employees’ grievances promised
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has reiterated the Government’s commitment to strengthen the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) that entered into profits this year.
The Government as well as the RTC management were determined to respond immediately to problems, if any, faced by the employees and take remedial measures, he said at a meeting convened by the National Mazdoor Union here on Wednesday to celebrate its third consecutive victory in the elections.
Dr. Reddy recalled how the previous government headed by N. Chandrababu Naidu tried to “dilute” the RTC on the plea that its operations were not viable.
His Government had showed that employees could turn around a company if they got the right support and recognition from the Government, he said. APSRTC Managing Director V. Dinesh Reddy, NMU working president M. Nageswara Rao and general secretary Syed Mahmood also spoke.
