HYDERABAD: Mala Mahanadu has decided to intensify its agitation against the “anti-Mala” policies of the State government by taking the struggle to grassroots level.
The State executive committee of the Mala Mahanadu will meet on May 6 to chalk out the course of action in the light of the report submitted by Justice Usha Mehra Commission that reportedly favoured the classification of Scheduled Castes into A, B, C and D groups. Discussions on the stand to be adopted in the forthcoming byelections would also figure.
Mahanadu president and MLC J. Prabhakara Rao who was admitted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) told this to CPI State secretary K. Narayana who called on him on Sunday. Mr. Narayana is understood to have sought the support of Mala Mahanadu for its candidates in Medaram and Huzurabad byelections.
Meanwhile, the indefinite fast launched by breakaway Mala Mahanadu group leader Karem Sivaji entered the third day on Sunday. He was shifted to the NIMS where his condition was said to be stable.
