The judiciary is accountable for its actions like anybody else. People are losing confidence in the justice delivery system and this is being highlighted from all forums.

Therefore, the demand of the Bar Association’s President and the APCLC to withdraw the complaint made by the Government against a particular judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court is misconceived. There shall be more and more fair and constructive criticism of judicial actions and only then democracy flourishes. Respect shall be commanded and not demanded by the judiciary.

Ways of easing traffic congestion

The following points can be noted to streamline the traffic in the twin cities. Hawkers should be removed from the footpaths and lanes. Pan, puncture and mechanic shops should be removed. Buses, autos and taxis should ply extreme left, bus bays should be erected where ever necessary and space should be allocated for auto stands. The area for the bus stop should be marked in red so that buses are parked within that area.

The same should be done for auto stands. Lorries should not be allowed on the flyovers. The green signal time should be more at important junctions in two straight directions.

Some details of new airport

Here are some interesting details about Shamshabad airport. One has to wait for nearly an hour to get the baggage, then get ready to shell out a few hundreds for to and fro travel expenses. Some domestic trips are made faster by road and rail than by flights and coffee costs just Rs 80.

GMR security staff have more powers than the police at the airport. Two-wheelers, three wheelers are not allowed near the airport and to top it all the traveller is misled about the distance. The distance from Tarnaka to airport is just 30 kms!

Build bus shelters

The Dilsukhnagar bus stop in front of the Bus Depot (while going towards LB Nagar) does not have shelter exposing the commuters to sun and rain. The toilet in the building which is in the vicinity stinks and the reservation counter in the building is causing hardship to the commuters waiting at the bus stop due to the criss-crossing of the two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Will the APSRTC make not of this?

Despite several letters there has been no response. There is no one at the address mentioned. Will the company repay the amount?

More rythu bazaars needed

India cannot be compared with the European countries or the US.

Only 10 per cent of Indians are comfortable with the ‘mall culture’. Agriculture and poultry products should not be sold through such chains. What the city needs is more ‘rythu bazaars’, let the malls sell electronic, cosmetics, electric and other such goods, but definitely not the essential commodities.
