TIRUPATI: In the raging race between Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu in doling out benefits to different sections, it was the turn of the latter on Monday to announce a few freebies to mark the launch of his 100-day ‘Praja Chaithanya Yathra’ across the State from Chandragiri constituency near here.

The TDP leader announced 9 to 10 hours free power supply to agriculture, free domestic power supply up to 50 units and loans to small farmers at 10 paise interest.

He said 15 kg of rice must be given under the Rs.2/- a kg scheme and wondered how the 4 kg now being given would be enough for a person.

“We must raise in revolt to get our legitimate share,” he said, adding that people were badly let down by the Congress after having been promised the moon by the party, to come to power by hook or crook.
