VIJAYAWADA: The city police on Friday collected some vital information relating to the murder of 25-year-old Lavanya, whose body was found floating in a farm pond in Kottur Tadepalli on Thursday.
They reportedly questioned three suspects, including Satyanarayana, husband of the deceased, a steel merchant in One Town area.
Sources in the city police said that Satyanarayana spilled the beans about his involvement in the crime during interrogation.
The couple was not on good terms for the past few months. Satyanarayana’s first wife objected to his alleged continued association with Lavanya, particularly giving some money to her towards monthly expenses. Lavanya started living with her parents as the problem could not be resolved amicably.
The suspect reportedly admitted that he had physically assaulted Lavanya on quite a few occasions in a fit of rage. The police questioned Satyanarayana’s brother Adinarayana also to ascertain his role in the murder, sources said.
