The White Paper should have comprehensive details, says Dattatreya

GUNTUR: Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded the State Government to immediately release a White Paper on the status of endowment lands in the State. The White Paper should have comprehensive details about the total extent of endowment lands under various temple trust boards, including the extent of lands illegally encroached, party State unit president Bandaru Dattatreya told reporters here on Saturday.

The BJP leader further said that recent decision of the State Government to offer the divine ‘Srirama Talambralu’ at all the district head quarters at Rs.10 smacked off intentions to degrade the religious conventions, he said adding that the BJP would launch agitational programmes till the Government reverts its decision.

On the possibility of Communists entering a poll pact with the Telugu Desam Party, he termed the Left party leaders as ‘dancers’, who sway to the tunes of regional parties. He dared the CPI and CPI (M) to withdraw support to the UPA Government over the soaring inflation rate.

Referring to the spate of suicides among the chilli farmers in the district, he found fault for not being able to come up with suitable compensatory package and demanded that the Government to persuade Markfed to procure discoloured chilli for Rs.3,000. The former minister who has written 99 letters to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy during the last four years, would now dash off his hundredth letter to him. The BJP leader, however, refused to divulge the contents of the letter.
