Rajahmundry: The State government has decided to demolish the dilapidated portions of the central jail here and asked a four-member executive committee to send a report on the demolitions to the government. The committee, which met here on Friday, identified seven such buildings which were constructed between 1930 and 1940. Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy, Central Jail superintendent A.G. Sainatha Reddy, R and B Executive Engineer P.D. Vijaya Kumar and Police Housing Corporation Executive Engineers discussed about demolition and construction of new buildings in the place of the old one. The committee discussed about the buildings left half way due to escalation of steel and cement prices.
