VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indian Air Force is organising a recruitment rally at Bowenpalli in Secunderabad from April 13 to 16 to select candidates for the Group Y (non-technical) and Group X category jobs, according to a press release from the District Youth Welfare Officer. The selections start at 5 a.m. every day.

Candidates born between July 1 and September 1991 and with a minimum height of 152 cms are eligible. The educational qualification for Group Y category jobs is a pass in Intermediate with science, arts, commerce subjects or vocational courses subjects. For Group X jobs, the qualification is a pass in Intermediate with mathematics and physics combination with at least 50 per cent marks or a polytechnic diploma in mechanical, electrical, electronics, automobile, computer science, instrumentation or IT branches with 50 per cent marks.

The candidates must be able to complete 1.6 km in eight minutes during the running test. The written test will be of Intermediate standard.

Every candidate has to submit seven recent passport sized colour photos, two white unstamped envelopes of 24x10 cm size and photostat copies of all original certificates. A candidates who are less than 18 years of age must bring a declaration from their parents that they have no objection for their ward to participate in the 1.6 km run test while those above 18 years of age can give the declaration on their own.
