HYDERABAD: The SFI on Saturday condemned police action against its cadre that was protesting government’s move towards conducting common entrance test for admission into the government residential schools. Denouncing the arrests made during the rally by SFI, the student organisation demanded restoration of entrance test under the aegis of respective societies. “Common entrance test is a ploy to prevaricate the opposition to a common society. Shifting residential schools from the welfare department to the Directorate of School Education will be a blow to the SC and ST residential schools.
It is nothing but implementation of the World Bank’s conditions and privatisation of residential schools,” a press note from SFI said on Saturday. It also condemned the government’s move to charge the ST and SC candidates with application fee for the entrance test, and to handover the EAMCET coaching to a private institute.
