TIRUMALA: The TTD board of trustees which met on Saturday resolved to upgrade S.V. Music College under its fold into a deemed university.
Briefing mediapersons, the TTD chairman B. Karunakar Reddy said that the board also resolved to constitute a four-member committee to work out the required modalities.
The board also resolved to introduce ‘Astothara Sata Kalasa Snapana Thirumanjanam’ - a new seva at the famous temple of goddess Padmavati Ammavaru, Tiruchanoor on every Wednesday. The price of the new seva is tagged at Rs. 2,000.
The one-time facility of postponement or preponement of the much-sought-after ‘Udayasthamana seva’ henceforth shall stand cancelled. The decision was taken to check the irregularities which came into light in the recent vigilance raids. As an encouragement to the ‘Haridasulu’ all over the State, the board resolved to extend financial aid of Rs. 4,000 every month to the recognised artistes provided they perform at least eight programmes every month.
