HYDERABAD: Public relations plays a major role in meeting the challenges of global competitive marketing environment, observed P. Madhusudhan Rao, Director, Hyderabad Doordarshan Kendra, here on Wednesday.
He was addressing a function in connection with the release of the tenth anniversary special issue of ‘Public Relations Voice’ and a book ‘How to be a good PR manager’ edited and published by C.V. Narasimha Reddy, former Director of Information and PR. Mr. Rao said PR had gained a lot of importance in view of the economic policy of 1991. He advised PR professionals to acquire skills and knowledge through journals like ‘PR Voice’ to serve both MNCs operating in the country and Indian firms functioning abroad.
He gave the first copy of the special issue to Atluri Subba Rao, president, Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Mr. Subba Rao released the book and presented the first copy to Mathew Joseph, Deputy GM (PR), Andhra Bank.
