HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the A.P. High Court comprising of Justice DSR Varma and Justice KC Bhanu on Thursday permitted the authorities to fill up the posts of teachers as notified in DSC—2006 notification. The Bench made it clear that all the appointments will be subject to final orders in the writ petition.
The Bench was passing these Interim orders to facilitate filling up the vacant posts in the Government Schools which had been lying vacant for over two years. The Bench was dealing with the writ petition filed by the State Government and some of the affected persons. Initially some of the applicants who were holding Diploma in Education (D.Ed) Certificate filed cases in Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal (APAT).
They complained that the SGT posts which are to be filled up by D.Ed Certificate holders alone are being offered to B.Ed. Graduates also. They challenged the DSC-2006 notification. The Tribunal made it clear that the posts in primary schools and meant for D.Ed certificate holders cannotbe filled by B.Ed graduates.
The Government came in appeal to the High Court by way of the writ Petition. It was brought to the notice of the court that thousands of candidates were suffering because of the Tribunal’s judgment. The Bench made it clear that the posts may be filled as informed in DSC- 06 notification. It directed the authorities to make it clear to the new appointees that these appointments would be subject to final judgment of the High Court.
