Entrepreneurship Week at MJCET
Over thirty entrepreneurship events are being hosted by MJCET
Experts from different industries to interact with students
HYDERABAD: While many still may not look beyond lucrative offers once they acquire their engineering degrees, a distinct trend of looking at entrepreneurship as a valid career option is emerging among engineering students.
The ongoing ‘Entrepreneurship Week 2008’ inaugurated at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology is for celebrating this spirit of entrepreneurship and to enable the youth with a fire in their belly to find the right path and guidance, says Chief Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Cell, MJCET, Venkata Shashank.
The ‘E Week India’ is being co-hosted by National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) with over 270 member colleges from across the country along with entrepreneur support associations.
NEN was co-founded in 2002 by Indian Institue of Technology-Bombay, Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, BITS Pilani, SP Jain and IBAB to inspire, educate and support younger generation of entrepreneurs.
First of its kind
The MJCET has taken the initiative for the first of its kind student led effort in the State to bring as many college campuses as possible into the E Week celebrations inaugurated on Saturday, say engineering students Sarfaraz and Salahbath.
Over 30 entrepreneurship events were being hosted by MJCET and were being organised in the four other participating colleges, VNR, VJIT and G. Narayanamma College of Engineering on different days of the week.
The E week has experts from different industries ranging from textiles to Venture Capital funding talking to students about access to entrepreneurship opportunities.
The weeklong programmes have creative activities, quiz by K Circle, movie screening within and outside the campus, panel discussions, workshops etc. for those serious about entrepreneurship.
Interestingly the E Week organised across the cities will be judged and two representatives from each E Week Champion Institute will be awarded Championship Cups at National E Week closing ceremony on February 9 at Bangalore.
