VIJAYAWADA: Personality development served as the main entry point for a session on ‘Discovering the hidden potential in you’ at a two-day programme organised by the Rotary Club of Vijayawada. Personality development trainer Shakir, who is the director of an organisation called ‘Empower’, explained about the general tendencies of youth, such as hesitation, uncertainty, distrust and scepticism, through the example of Swami, one of the participants in the programme. Mr. Shakir demonstrated how a person could achieve anything that he wishes to do.

“My best friend Swami would not agree that a person can remember more than 500 names and telephone numbers,” Mr. Shakir said, and offered to test his own memory. Sheela, one of the participants was quick to grab the opportunity only to prove that Swami was wrong. Mr. Shakir recollected telephone numbers and names and vice versa with an ease, drawing a big round applause. S. Ganga Bhavani and G. Bhoomika of the Siddhartha Women’s College expressed the view that the programme would help them attend to interviews with confidence.

Earlier, M.C. Das, past district governor of Rotary International District 3020, spoke about leader and leadership qualities.
