HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Girijana Samakhya has demanded immediate arrest of the policemen who allegedly raped 11 tribal women in Vakapalli village of G. Madugula mandal of Visakhapatnam district.

Samakhya general secretary R. Shankar Naik also said that the inquiry into the incident by a High Court sitting judge should be ordered.

He was addressing hundreds of tribals and women who took out a protest rally from Himayathnagar to Narayanaguda and organised a rasta roko under the aegis of AP Girijana Samakhya and AP Mahila Samakhya.

Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded a judicial inquiry into the alleged gang-rape of tribal women by policemen besides suspension and booking of cases against them under the SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
