Several temples in the city are making arrangements for celebrations of Vasantha Navaratri festival which begins on the Ugadi day on April 4 and conclude with Sri Rama Navami on April 12.
The 36th Vasanta Navaratri Utsavamulu of Sri Sadguru Brahmana Ramadootha Mandiram in Madhuranagar near Sankara Matham will begin on Tuesday with special pujas performed during mornings and evenings. According to founder member and chairman Mallajosyula Ramachandram and founder member Ganti Narasimha Murthy, recital of Krishna Yajurvedam by Ravuru Subrahmanya Sarma in the mornings and Sundarakanada recital by Peri Bhaskara Sarma in the evenings will be organised.
Besides, there would be discourses by noted Sanskrit scholar G. Akkubhatla Sarma. Music concerts by B.L. Suryateja, Pantula Rama (vocal), MSN Murthy, KVS Prasad (violin), Bhaktiranjani by Vankayala Narasimham and party, and harikatha by Manda Varalakshmi of Cheepurupalli are some of the highlights of the programmes to be held at the temple. On April 12, Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam would be performed in the morning and Sri Rama Pattabhishekam in the evening by Mr. Peri Bhaskara Sarma.
The celebrations at Sri Lalitha Peetham in Lalitha Nagar include Sri Lalitha Yagam daily from April 4 to 12. Also, Chandi and Rudra Yagams would eb conducted from April 6 to 11, according to manager Vadarevu Subba Rao and assistant manager Vissa Ramachandra Rao.
Sri Siddheswaranananda Bharati, peethadhipati of Sri Siddheswari Peetham in Courtalam of Tamil Nadu who is also the head of Sri Lalitha Peetham would be present from April 6 and inaugurate `Dharmarakshana Yagam' on that day. Recital of Soundarya Lahari, Sivananda Lahari, Sri Vishusahasranamam, Sri Lalithasahasranamam, discourses, seminars and recital of poetry by local poets are also on the programme card.
Sri Sitaramula Kalyana Mahotsavam will be celebrated of Sri Krishna (Guruvayoorappan) Mandiram in Seethammadhara North Extension Layout on April 12 at 10.20 a.m. at Veda Dharma Rakshana Sabha auditorium beside the temple, the secretary of the Sabha P. Koteswara Rao said. Akhila Bharata Ayyappa Seva Sangham would organise the programme which includes a community lunch after the celestial wedding.
