German envoy inaugurates labs
German Ambassador A. Pfeil inaugurated two laboratories on the premises of the Indo-German Institute of Advanced Technology (IGIAT), here on Saturday.
Dr. Pfeil, while appreciating the performance of IGIAT, promised to provide more machinery and technical expertise to the institution.
A representative of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, W. Elberfeld, and the Programme Director of German Agency for Technical Cooperation (New Delhi), D.J. Hahn, also promised to extend help.
The Department of Geology of Andhra University and the National Geophysical Research Institute (Hyderabad) are organising a training programme on 'Role of mathematical modelling in groundwater flow and mass transport' from January 23 to February 4.
"This is the first such programme being organised by AU, and 30 delegates from various parts of the country would attend the training course, funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DoST)," Vice-Chancellor L. Venugopal Reddy told a press conference here on Saturday.
