excel in CAT

Eight T.I.M.E.-Vizag students who have appeared for CAT-2005 examination received interview calls from Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) for admission into PGDBM course. Following are the candidates-- M. Theju, G. Prabhakara Rao, K. Muralikrishna, Pant Puneeth, Y.B. Teja, K.S.R. Mahesh, K.N. Kishore and Mukesh Patnaik. The first four students got calls from all the IIMs - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore and Kozhikode.

School holidays

All Government and recognised schools, including residential schools, in the district will remain closed for Sankranti holidays from January 11 to 20. The earlier announcement of holidays from January 7 to 16 has been changed owing to the Visakha Utsav and the District Science Fair, and schools have to work from January 7 to 10, according to a statement from the District Educational Officer in a press release here on Tuesday.

GVMC gesture

Interest on property tax arrears payable to the Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has been waived off, according to Municipal Commissioner N. Srikanth.

No power supply

There will be no power supply in the following areas from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday: Kancharapalem Mettu, Ravindra Nagar, Reddy Kancharapalem, ITI Junction and Urvasi Theatre, as work on the 11 KV Kancharapalem feeder is being taken up, according to the Divisional Engineer, Zone-II, APEPDCL.

Free medical camp
