The Hyderabad District Administration has launched the district website and an SMS application for Town Survey Details here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector, Arvind Kumar said details pertaining to land in the district henceforth can be obtained by visiting the website 'hyderabad.ap.nic.in' or by sending SMS to 94408-15861. Those using the SMS need to send block number, ward number and town survey numbers for data on the enjoyers of that specific property.
An exhibition-cum-sale 'Chenetha Soyagalu' aimed at providing marketing facilities to poor handloom weavers is being organised at Vasavi Kalyana Mandapam, Khairatabad from January 4 to 13. The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to a press release.

Selected for info access project
The Centre for Good Governance (CGG) has been selected by the Union Government and the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) for the project 'Capacity Building for Access to Information'.
According to a press release issued here, the CGG was selected in an open competition involving reputed institutes and consultants. The project cost is about Rs.7 crores and it will operate in 12 States including Andhra Pradesh for a period of three years. - Staff Reporter
Scholarship date extended
The last date for submission of South Asia Foundation (SAF) Madanjeet Singh scholarship forms by the P.G students of Dr. B.R. Ambekdar Open University has been extended up to January 16. The scholarship is meant for postgraduate and professional students of BRAOU of 2004 and 2005 batches. Scholarship forms can be downloaded from the SAF website http://www.southasiafoundation.org /membership/.
Postgraduate students of BRAOU who have received the SAF scholarship in the first year are also required to apply again for the second year, according to a press release.
The APSRTC Hyderabad City Region will observe the 17th Road Safety Week from January 2 to 8 at all the bus depots. During this period all drivers will be given tips on safe driving habits, lane discipline, traffic rules and other precautions to be followed. Posters and stickers will be put up to educate drivers and road users on safety aspect. Eminent persons from different fields would be invited to address the drivers on the need for safe driving, according to C. Panduranga Murthy, regional manager, Hyderabad City Region.
