WorkshopTo mark its silver jubilee celebrations, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC), in association with Institution of Engineers, will conduct a three-day workshop on "Earthquake Resistant Design of Structures" in the city from June 15. The workshop will be held at Hotel D.V. Manor. Ramacharla Pradeep Kumar of Earthquake Engineering Research Centre in IIIT, Hyderabad, D. Ramaseshu, associate professor, NIT, Warangal, D.S. `Mehandi' contest winnersN.S.V. Brunda, Riziya Tabassum and Priyanka Jain won the top three prizes in `mehandi' competitions conducted by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) as part of its silver jubilee celebrations here on Wednesday. The VMC conducted the competitions at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) stadium. Jaya Jain, U. Swathi and Vicky Jain won the consolation prizes. In `rangoli' competitions, conducted at the same venue, K. Sridevi, K. Ushasree, V. Sulochana and N.V. Bharathi got the consolation prizes.
