The following were the prices (in Rs.per kg) of essential commodities in the local wholesale market on Monday, according to Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Groundnut oil - 60, palmolein oil- 44, sunflower oil - 54, tamarind (flower variety) - 28 to 43, tamarind (karipuli variety) - 45 to 52, chillies- (new) 60 to 70, rice (2716)-14, rice (super fine)-15, rice (sona masoori)-18 to 19, rice (samba masoori)- 16, black gram-54.25 and red gram-26 to 32.

Power shutdown

Southern Power Distribution Company of AP Limited has proposed shutdown for maintenance of lines and equipments in Penamaluru section on Tuesday.

There will be no power supply in Poranki Penamaluru, Gangooru, Chowdavaram, Vanukuru, Gosala and part of Edupugallu panchayat areas from 7 a.m to 9 a.m. H. T points in Chaitanya in Gangooru, Priya Foods, Venkatadri Oils, Satya Kala Agro Oils, Kanakadurga Rice & Oils and AP Foundries will not have power supply from 7 a.m to 9 a.m.
