ENC painting competition

As part of Navy Week celebrations, the Eastern Naval Command will conduct a painting competition for children at Swarna Bharathi indoor stadium on Sunday at 9 a.m. Nearly 800 children from various schools will be participating in the event. The competition will be held in three age groups under the themes `Landscape/Rainy Day', `A Day at the Zoo' and `Indian Navy to the rescue in calamities'.

The awards for the competition will be presented on November 22 onboard an Indian naval ship at sea.

Admiral Superintendent of Naval Dockyard, Rear Admiral Dilip Deshpande and Head of Department for Fine Arts at Andhra University, Prof. C. Ravi Shankar Patnaik, will be the guests at the competition.

AU to conduct

special exams

AU will hold a special examination for candidates of B.Sc. Applied Science, Bachelor of Professional Studies and B.A/B.Sc computers special for completing leftover papers in their courses.

A release said this is the final chance for those candidates.

The exam fee is Rs.1,000 per paper. Those interested who would like to appear for the exam can send their applications on or before December 16 with the prescribed fee.

Aspirant's plans

P. Booth Tucker, an advocate aspiring to contest from the graduates' constituency of North Andhra districts, on Friday said he had a plan for the development of north coastal districts. He appealed to graduates to avail themselves of the second phase of enrolment from November 22 to December 7 to be taken up following the orders of the Election Commission.
