VMC Commissioner Natarajan Gulzar on Monday promised to increase the water distribution timing for the residents of hill areas. Mr. Gulzar inspected Kothapeta, Gollapalem, Chittinagar, Sitara Junction, Bhavanipuram, J B Colony and Cramway Road and interacted with the residents. He also promised to strengthen the weak retaining walls on the hills. While inspecting the fish market, he asked the traders to install a mesh in their shops and warned of action against the violators.
Jan Sikshana Sansthan will organise a month long self-employment courses for women from May1 according to Sansthan director Vidya Kanna. Classes' will held on dressmaking, car driving and maintenance, machine embroidery and MS Office on May 1. In the month-long programme, classes in mechanic application, gas stove mechanism; ice cream making and certificate course in medical lab technology will be held to the aspiring women entrepreneurs.
V.Lakshman Rao's contribution hailed
Several CPI-M leaders hailed the contribution of late V. Lakshmana Rao at his memorial meeting held on Monday. Kankipadu division secretary M. Hari Babu, who presided over the function, recollected the involvement of Mr. Rao in various people's movements. CPM central committee member and MLA P. Ramaiah said Mr. Rao was struggled for the welfare of the deprived section of the society by highlighting their problems to the administration.
