ATM centre inaugurated
State Bank of Mysore opened an ATM centre at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, Madhurwada, on Thursday. It was inaugurated by C. Sadasiva Rao, medical practitioner and philanthropist in the presence of T.S. Krishna Murty, DGM (Central zone - Bangalore) of the bank.
Bidhan C. Sahu, AGM, K. Krishna Bharat, Chief Manager of the bank and others were present.
The Small Industries Service Institute (SISI), in association with Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, organised a one-day industrial intensive and motivation camp at the college on Friday.
A live phone-in programme will be held over the educational FM channel `Gyanvani' between 7 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. on Saturday. The Vizag Film Society will screen `Neelakkuyil', the first Malayalam film to win the President's medal for excellence in film making in 1954, at 6 p.m. at Andhra University Academic Staff College in memory of P. HPCL union holds
The Petroleum Workers' Union of HPCL's Visakh Refinery here, led by its president P.G. Viswesvara Rao, held a gate meeting on Friday in the refinery protesting against the Centre's move to disinvest the refinery to Total Fina of France for financing the expansion project. The union decided to intensify the stir if the Centre did not stop the disinvestment move as the cash-rich HPCL is one of the `navaratna' companies.
Health check-up camp
As part of ESI Corporation Day celebrations, a health check-up camp was conducted by the Malkapuram ESI doctors and paramedical staff for contract workers at HZL on Wednesday. More than 80 workers were examined and free medicines were distributed at the camp.
