CPI(M) public meet tomorrow
The CPI(M) city committee is holding a public meeting at Lenin Centre at 6 p.m. on Saturday to highlight various failures of the UPA Government. Party city secretary R. Raghu said in a statement on Thursday that the UPA Government had not implemented the common minimum programme in respect of several issues. The party, he said, had taken up a nation-wide campaign about the `anti-people' policies of the UPA Government.
A `rathotsavam' (chariot procession) was held on Thursday as part of the Brahmotsavam celebrations of Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Brahmin Street in One Town. Assistant commissioner of Endowments R. Poli Reddy led the procession, which reached Srinivasa Mahal Centre. From there it went to Iron Centre after passing through Tammina Potharaju road and Ramanayya Cool Drink Shop centre.
Romanian professor Ivon Voicu Sucala of Department of Management and Systems Engineering delivered special lecture to MBA students of Mahatma Gandhi College in Guntur on Thursday. Under a bilateral agreement between the institution in Clug - Napoca in Romania and the MGC, he spoke on Organisational Studies and Human Resource Management and on Cross Cultural Management, according to College Principal DAR Subrahmanyam.
Annual Day fete
Joint Commissioner of Income Tax K.S. Rajendra Kumar asked Sri Venkateswara Bala Kuteer, Guntur, students to develop different kinds of soft skills to build up a muli-faceted personality instead of concentrated only on academics. He participated in the 32nd Annual Day celebrations on Thursday. Students presented a play and other cultural programmes.
