HYDERABAD: An argument led to a murder at Chandanagar on Friday. "A resident of Gangaram village, Pochaiah, 58, picked up an argument with a fish vendor Sambaiah and showered blows on him," Chandanagar Inspector M. Madhusudhan Reddy said.

Sambaiah picked up the knife he uses to cut fish and slit Pochaiah's throat, killing him on the spot.

Later, he surrendered.


Four youths claiming themselves as `Annalu' robbed two rice mill owners of Rs. 7 lakhs at their mill office in Aliyabad of Shamirpet on city fringes on Friday night. Shamirpet SI Prabhakar Reddy said they had brandished a pistol to threaten the millers.
