In order to educate people about the importance of protecting ancient monumental structures, the district archaeology and tourism departments jointly conducted a heritage walk at the ancient and historic Elgandal fort on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Thursday.

On the occasion of World Heritage day, District Water Management Agency (DWMA) project director Manohar formally flagged off the heritage walk at the ancient fort which was attended by students and local villagers. Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on the need for the protection and conservation of ancient and historic structures as it would help the future generations know the history of our glorious past. Archaeology department AD Mallikarjun Rao, district tourism officer Venkateshwara Rao and others were present.
