TIRUPATI: As many as 72 proposals involving a gross financial assistance of Rs.348 crore were approved by the A.P. State Financial Corporation at its Business Development Campaign held at Tirupati on Monday.

J. Rambabu, Chairman of the corporation addressing the prospective entrepreneurs felt that the industrial and commercial potentiality of the Rayalaseema region had not been fully tapped despite its ideal location -- contiguous to two major States -- Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Vikas Raj, MD, said the organization had been encouraging first generation entrepreneurs in setting up industries besides providing them necessary guidance in the selection of industries.

M.V. Brahmananda Rao, Executive Director, claimed that the SFC retained its top position among all SFCs in the country for the 9th consecutive year.
