The East Coast Railway Shramik Union (ECoRSU) has demanded appointment of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

ECoRSU has conducted meetings all over East Coast Railway Zone on the directions of the All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF), New Delhi.

In the meeting held here on Monday, AIRF assistant general secretary and ECoRSU general secretary Ch. Gandhi said that there were about 50 lakh central government employees in the country. After VI CPC, the VII CPC was scheduled to be effected from January 1, 2016. He appealed to the Central Government to appoint VII CPC immediately.

Whenever D.A. reaches 50 per cent, it should be merged with Basic Pay as per the agreement reached with the Central Government. Accordingly, the DA should be merged with Basic Pay with effect from January 1, 2011. It should be done without any further delay.
