The Duvvada Railway Users’ Association urged Chief Commercial Manager of East Coast Railway M.L. Appa Rao to improve the amenities at Duvvada Station, when he visited the station on Saturday.

Association secretary K. Eswar and treasurer Y. Srihari Rao appealed to the CCM for a full-fledged extension of Platform No.4 and extension of Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at the north end from island Platform 2 and 3 to Platform 4 and stoppage for Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad Garib Rath Express at Duvvada.

They recalled that Duvvada was identified for development as an ‘Adarsh Station’ during the current financial year. They sought early completion of Platform No. 4, booking counter and basic amenities on the west side. People living in Aganampudi, Lankelapalem, Paravada, NTPC, Pharma City and Ukkunagaram are finding it difficult to reach Platform No.1.

There is no FOB ramp type from PF-2 and 3 to PF-1 causing hardship to physically challenged persons, patients and old persons crossing the railway track.

They sought extension of FOB-1 to PF-4 side. This will benefit passengers and prevent them from crossing the railway track and sometimes from under goods trains. They also sought increase in the number ticket booking counters, extension of computerised reservation timings and widening of the main approach road to the station.
