CLP criticises opposition parties for stalling House

  • Process kept on hold following litigation
  • List released now as High Court clears case

    HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) said that the notification for recruitment of 15 additional public prosecutors was issued in 1998-99 and written test conducted in 2001.

    Criticising opposition parties for stalling the Assembly proceedings on Friday on these appointments, Congress Legislature Party leaders said that following litigation, the selection and appointment of the candidates was kept on hold by the Police Recruitment Board.

    As the High Court cleared the case recently and directed the authorities to release the list, it was announced now.

    Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Government Chief Whip N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Whip D. Sridhar Babu said it was unfortunate that the Opposition was obstructing the business of the House every day.

    Referring to the dharna staged by Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) members in front of the Chief Minister's chamber's in the Assembly, they said the Government was committed to the implementation of GO 610.

    On the other hand, Congress MLA from Khairatabad P. Janardhan Reddy blamed the Government for the controversy and said it was unfortunate that such a "mistake" had occurred again.
