Constitutes five task force teams

As the process of division of Andhra Pradesh gathers momentum, the AP Congress Committee has constituted five task force teams to face the 2014 elections.

In tune with the party’s focus on using the social media and all available communication channels to reach out to the cadre and people, the APCC top brass has come out with roles and responsibilities for the task force teams.

At a meeting chaired by the PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana on Monday at Gandhi Bhavan, five committees – Media coordination; social media, poll management; research analysis and survey and strategy, election campaign were constituted. Each committee comprises five members, who are secretaries and joint secretaries in the PCC.

The idea, according to the PCC president is to face the next elections. “We have decided to take up the task for these committees in mission mode 2014,” he told reporters adding that members of the committee would hold day-to-day meetings at the party headquarters to concentrate on the areas that would enhance the image of Congress.

The PCC general secretary T.J.R.Sudhakar Babu, who is in charge of the task force committees, said that party leaders would now be active on social media.

Extensive usage

“We will be extensively using twitter, facebook, create websites and other portals to take the message of the party to the people and the cadre,” he said.

The task force members are required to closely keep a watch on reports in the newspapers and television channels and prepare a list of negative and positive stories about the party.

“The media coordination and social media committees will be entrusted the task of giving clarification and putting out effective defence or contradict the negative reports,” Mr. Sudhakar Babu said adding that other committees like the research analysis and survey team will concentrate of getting ground level feedback on party’s prospects. The task force committees would also prepare a preliminary list of aspirants for the elections.

The reports would focus on the caste, track record of the aspirants and winning chances of the leaders, Mr. Sudhakar Babu said.
