Many throng Net and eSeva centres for SSC results
ELURU: The announcement of Class 10 results by the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Board on Wednesday gave students and parents anxious moments. The hi-tech medium of Internet through which the board promised to make available the results to “instantaneously” turned out to be of little help to students.
Consequently, eSeva and Internet centres in the city were flooded by a large number of students and parents seeking to know the results.
The details pertaining to the results available on the Net were said to be incomplete. The Net centres could not provide marks list subject-wise. Only details relating to the division of marks and pass/fail status of the candidates were displayed.
Strangely, the eSeva centres provided all the details, including the marks list. Those dependent on the SMS mode, however, were lucky.
P. Muralidhar, a city-bank officer, told The Hindu that he could receive the details of subject-wise marks pertaining to his daughter with ease through a flash of message provided by a mobile service provider. Meanwhile, the West Godavari district secured 5th place at the State level in the 10th class results this year with 85.28 pass percentage as against 4th place last year. According to District Education Officer P. Srinivas, 35,882 students passed out of the total 42,077 candidates who took the exam. Students fared badly in Hindi when compared to other subjects this time.
