Invited to meet on `What's next for Indigenous Studies'
GUNTUR: Acharya Nagarjuna University associate professor Patteti Raja Sekhar of English Department has been invited by the Native American Studies Department of the University of Oklahoma to an international scholarly meeting on `What's next for Indigenous Studies' from May 3 to 5.
The emerging trend in English literature is `Fourth World Literature' which deals with literature on Dalits and tribals from India, Native Americans, native Canadians, Maoris of New Zealand, and Australian Aboriginals. The ANU professor would present an analysis on "Fourth World Literature: Representation and Contestation in N. Scott Momaday's The Ancient Child and Narendra Jadav's `Out Caste'".
His presentation would be to delegates from United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia, Italy and France. Well-known writers Linda Hugan, Louige Erdrich, would address the three-day conference.
