GUNTUR: A colourful rally consisting of prominent personalities, students and staff of the Guntur Municipal Corporation kicked off a 15-day-long ‘Zero Mosquito Tolerance’ campaign undertaken by the GMC on Tuesday.

Mayor Rayapati Mohan Sai Krishna, Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha, Municipal Commissioner Siddharth Jain and Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor Y. Haragopala Reddy led the rally, which commenced from Gandhi Park. While Mr. Laddha lighted the torch, Mr. Reddy read aloud the pledge and doves were released by all the guests to mark the start of the rally.

While the stilt walkers gave the colour to the rally, the youthful exuberance shown by the participants drawn from various organisations and enthusiasm shown by the students was note worthy.
