Though two girijans being treated at the KGH here tested negative for anthrax, samples have been sent to Gwalior for further analysis.

Members of about 25 families in Dumbriguda mandal who ate meat of a dead goat developed ulcers on fingers. They were given medicines and five of them were shifted to the hospital at Araku Valley. Since they refused admission to hospital, they were treated at outpatients, according to District Medical and Health Officer Syamala.

She said in a statement here on Sunday two girijans, Appanna, 47, and Rajulamma, 35, are undergoing treatment at the KGH now and their tests reported negative for anthrax. Medical camps were conducted from Thursday to Sunday and no fresh cases were reported.
