Buoyed over the successful implementation of “Ammalalana” programme the district administration had set a target of performing a total of 25,000 deliveries in the government hospitals every year.

Speaking at a review meeting on “Ammalalana” (Mother’s nurture) programme in Karimnagar town on Thursday, Collector Smita Sabharwal said that the government hospitals could conduct only 4,000 and odd deliveries during the last financial year against the total deliveries of 50,000 in the district.

During this financial year, the government hospitals had performed 8,000 deliveries till November end.

She informed the medical fraternity to conduct at least 1,400 deliveries during this month.
