CHILAKALURIPET: Over 600 families, who have been in distress following suicide of men, were on Thursday provided a big relief when AMG-International provided financial assistance worth Rs.1 crore. The AMG has been conducting the programme twice a year since the year 2004.

Under the scheme, families in distress would get financial aid to meet the expenses incurred towards education of their children and for provisions every month. Addressing the gathering that converged on the AMG premises, AMG-International director Arun.K. Mohanty said that under the programme, schoolchildren would get a monthly assistance of Rs.350, junior college students a monthly assistance of Rs.400, degree college students Rs.500. The money could be utilised to buy books and clothes, he added.
