Meeting convened only to pacify Congress MPs to get their votes for FDI
Gone Prakash Rao, YSRCP leader and former APSRTC chairman, has asserted that the proposed all-party meeting convened by the Union government on Telangana statehood issue was totally a “farce” and a plan to betray the people of Telangana again.
Speaking to newsmen here on Thursday, Mr. Rao said that the Congress government had convened the meeting only to pacify the Telangana Congress MPs for ensuring their participation in voting for the passing of FDI bill.
He charged that the Congress had been delaying the formation of separate Telangana state since 1969.
Ridiculing TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s (KCR) claim of securing the Telangana state after winning 100 Assembly and 15 MP seats from the region, Mr. Prakash Rao said that the Telangana Praja Samithi (TPS) had also won 10 MP seats after 1969 statehood stir and failed to achieve Telangana.
