The 40 acre sprawling ground beside Nimmala Garden at Perkit on the outskirts of Armoor town has been spruced up for the 12th annual meeting of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Saturday.
All the arrangements for what the TRS leaders call the party ‘historic meeting’ are in place and party rank and file and leaders are on alert to ensure that there will be no lapses in facilities for the representatives. They are leaving nothing to chance to make the meeting a grand success.
Giving details of the meeting, the party Armoor Assembly constituency in-charge A. Jeevan Reddy said that a total of 35,000 delegates are expected to attend the meeting for which the venue with an extent of 1.20 lakh square feet was built. As many as 300 delegates will be invited on to the dais.
About 18 varieties of food items- both vegetarian and non-vegetarian- will be prepared. Kitchen was set up in 10,000 square feet and for dining 70,000 square feet place was earmarked, said Mr. Jeevan Reddy.
In all, 28 resolutions will be discussed and accepted in the meeting which would begin at 11 a.m. after the arrival of the TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao. The election of Mr. Rao as the party president would be announced in the meeting. The meeting would conclude around 7 p.m. with his address.
Meanwhile, tents and polls pitched for dais and other enclosures were uprooted due to strong gales and hailstorm that occurred on Thursday night. However, the party cadres and workers are restoring them at a brisk pace.
