Krishna District Medical and Health Officer K. Sunanda on Saturday said parents of children below five years must ensure polio drops to their wards and help the authorities make Krishna a polio-free district.

She was addressing a meeting organised in connection with an awareness rally taken out from Swaraj Maidan to Tummalapalli Kalakshetram to educate people on the need to ward off polio as part of the first phase of National Pulse Polio Immunisation drive scheduled to commence on Sunday. Chief Medical Officer VMC M. Satyanarayana Raju,Senior Medical Officer in VMC Iqbal Hussain, Assistant Medical Officers Gopal Naik and Ratnavali and others participated.
